After calling around many places in the U.S. i.e. Michigan,Wisconsin and emailing a few people overseas, I just didn't get a good feel on where
to send my Waltham Speedometer to get repaired. I stumbled on a place in Southern California that did a superb job,
very timely (less than a week), and the most reasonable cost (hundreds less than the nearest quote).
The issue with my original Waltham speedometer is that it would not spin. It was pretty easy to see the gears were locked up. I was pretty pleased
with the face plate and the glass, so I really just wanted to get this to work.
I made the call to Chuck at North Hollywood Speedometer after a friend in town said he found them and had his gauges there. I explained to Chuck
about my Waltham Speedometer and how rare they were, and he said bring it down and he would give me a quote on the spot.
I took the speedometer in, and explained that I was already happy with the faceplate, I just wanted it to work. Chuck gave me a quote there, which was hundreds of dollars less than the quote I got from Michigan or the quote from an Austrailian restorer. Chuck said he would have it done in a week. (I was astonished, as the other places were taking months, if not years to return).

NHS took the speedometer apart and inspected the gears. It appears that the speedometer had been repaired by someone else over the years and had an
incorrect gear, thus it jammed while running. NHS replaced the needed parts and recalibrated the speedometer.
Wow! NHS called me after 6 days, and said it was calibrated and ready. They asked me if he could touch up some of the face plate, needle, and the casing. I approved
and my speedo was ready. I had been waiting to give this little project over to some place for over 4 years, and the solution was right down here in Southern California. Thanks
